Chapter 370

Sarah noticed the sadness in her eyes and suddenly grabbed Scarlett's hand. "Let's try something,"

she said seriously.

"Try what?"

Her voice was soft and convincing. "Let's see if he likes you."

"What?"

Sarah took out her phone and played the recording for her. "When he was drunk, he kept saying

your name. Zachary sent this to me. Why not give it a chance? If you feel even a little something for

him."

A faint blush appeared on Scarlett's face. "Alright, let's try."

That evening, Sarah called Steven. "Steven, I'd like to bring sfriends to St. Ritz for dinner

tonight. Are you available?"

After all, this show couldn't go on without its main character.

At seven-thirty, Sarah arrived at St. Ritz with Scarlett. Steven froze when he saw Scarlett - he hadn't expected

her to be one of Sarah's friends.

Just as he placed the menus on Sarah's table, he saw Scarlett waving excitedly toward the entrance.

"Over here!" Sarah smiled knowingly and explained, "This is Scarlett's boyfriend."

His hand trembled on the menu, his smile instantly vanishing as he stared blankly at the approaching man. He

noticed Scarlett putting her hand on the man's arm - they looked like an intimate couple.

"Boyfriend? She's dating someone?"

He felt a pinch in his heart, overwhelmed by a feeling he'd never experienced before. He didn't even feel like

cooking.

Sarah spoke casually, "Yes, her boyfriend. Handsome, isn't he? Please serve us your best dishes. I've been telling

them about our top chef, so don't disappoint

us."

Steven's knuckles turned white as he gripped the menu, practically grinding out the words: "Of course. | won't

disappoint you."

He couldn't explain his feelings, just this sour sensation in his chest. The man sat stiffly next to Scarlett, clearly

uncomfortable and unsure where to look.

Sarah barely contained her laughter as she whispered to Scarlett, "Where did you find him? He's such a terrible

actor."

Scarlett replied embarrassedly, "Just srandom actor | hired."

Just then, Steven brought out the dishes, deliberately placing a bowl of soup in front of the man. He stared

directly at him and said, "This is a special soup just for you, sir. Drink it while it's hot."

The man accepted it with both hands, thanking him repeatedly.

After Steven returned to the kitchen, Sarah quickly whispered, "Act more intimate! Scarlett, feed him sof

your dessert."

"What?" Scarlett hurriedly picked up her plate and held a piece of cake to the man's lips.

She'd never felt so stiff making such a gesture before. Usually, she wasn't this reserved - why was

she so awkward now?

The man took a sip of Steven's soup and nearly spit it out.

The soup was incredibly salty - like drinking pure salt water.

"What's wrong?" Scarlett asked.

The man shook his head. "Nothing."

Steven returned with more dishes and glared disapprovingly at the man's still-full bowl. "You need

to finish that soup. | made it specially for you."

The man shot a panicked look at Sarah before quickly nodding.

Neither Sarah nor Scarlett noticed his distress - he was just a hired actor, after all. Having been

paid to play his part, he lifted the bowl with grim determination, ready to drink it all.
