Chapter 383
"James... | know you're still upset withabout what happened." Charlotte's eyes were red, her
voice filled with quiet sorrow as she looked up at James.
Seeing her like this, James felt his heart soften.
"I'm sorry, | just "
"You don't have to explain, James. | understand. You have every right to be angry.
If | hadn't made such a terrible mistake, Lucy wouldn't have ended up so far away," Charlotte said,
her voice trembling with guilt.
Without warning, she threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly. James let out a quiet sigh
and held her in return.
At Luther Enterprises.
A woman dressed in sharp business attire, wearing sunglasses and carrying a designer handbag,
walked confidently through the lobby toward the elevators. Before she could step inside, the
receptionist stopped her. “Miss, who are you here to see?"
Sarah removed her sunglasses, revealing her elegant, striking face. “I'm here to see Mr. Luther."

"Do you have an appointment?"
Shaking her head, Sarah replied calmly, "I doubt the Luthers are too busy these days. Tell Mr. Luther that Sarah
Sanders wants to see him. He'll agree."
The receptionist's expression changed instantly. She quickly made a call, and moments later, escorted Sarah to
the elevator.
When Sarah entered the office, she saw a middle-aged man sitting behind the large desk. His graying temples
and dark circles under his eyes betrayed the toll recent events had taken on him-likely stemming from the
problem created by his son, Michael Luther.
"Mr. Luther," Sarah greeted politely as she stepped inside. Without waiting for an invitation, she walked straight
to the sofa and sat down.
Mr. Luther studied her for a moment before letting out a bitter laugh. "What brings you here?"
On her way up, Sarah had noticed the near-empty building, the once-bustling company now eerily quiet. The
recent scandal had left its mark.
"I'm not here to waste time," Sarah began, cutting to the chase. "Tellwho the woman was—the one working
with your family. Who was at the villa that day? Being honest about everything is the only way to salvage what's
left of Luther Enterprises."
Mr. Luther chuckled lightly. "You don't need to do anything. The company is already falling apart."
Sarah wasn't fazed. She casually pulled a stack of documents from her bag and placed them on the table. "Mr.
Luther, you know exactly what these papers are, don't you?"
She tossed them onto the desk.
Mr. Luther took the documents, his expression freezing the moment he realized what he was holding. The
paperwork revealed Luther Enterprises’ tax records from the past two years.
Most companies prepared two sets of tax reports: one for internal use and the other for submission.
And this one...
His face darkened as he asked coldly, "Where did you get these?"
"Mr. Luther, that's not the point," Sarah replied with a faint smile, calmly retrieving the documents
and slipping them back into her bag. “What matters is what you're going to tell me."
She hadn't brought the file to create -she wanted answers, clear and irrefutable ones.
Mr. Luther let out a long sigh, his taut nerves visibly loosening. He glanced around his office,
defeated. "What do you want to know? I'll tell you."
Sarah leaned back against the sofa, her posture relaxed yet focused. "Since you've decided to
cooperate, start from the very beginning."
She knew that starting from the beginning was the only way to dissect the story, piece by piece,
and uncover any inconsistencies.
Mr. Luther understood her demand perfectly, but he also knew the stakes. If he stayed silent, not
only would there be no saving his son, but Luther Enterprises would also face complete ruin.
Recently, tax audits had becincredibly strict. Trying to stir up trouble under such scrutiny was
no different than walking into a trap. Most savvy businesspeople knew better, and the Luther family
was no exception. Reluctantly, Mr. Luther resolved to tell her everything.
