Chapter 384
Mr. Luther laid everything out for Sarah, recounting the events in detail. While not every word was
precise, he remembered most of it.
Sarah raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "So, Mr. Luther, are you saying your son, Michael, has feelings
for Charlotte?"
Mr. Luther nodded gravely. "No one else knows about this. Considering Miss Garnett is already
married, it's not something anyone would want made public.”
“That's understandable,” Sarah replied, her tone calm. “But are you saying you got involved in this
mess because of Charlotte, or is there another reason?"
She didn't buy for a second that the entire Luther family could be manipulated solely because of
Charlotte. The real mastermind had yet to reveal themselves.
She already had someone in mind, though it baffled her how the Luthers could be connected to
Vivian.
Mr. Luther avoided her gaze. "Miss Sanders, I've told you everything | know. Whatever's left has
nothing to do with me."

Sarah nodded. She knew better than to push too hard.
As she left the Luther building, her lips curled into a faint smile. She pulled a recorder from her pocket, satisfied
that the entire conversation was now on tape. She'd let her cousin review it.
On Highway 231, Charlotte gripped the steering wheel tightly, her foot pressing hard on the accelerator. The car
sped down the road like a bullet, but her trembling hands betrayed her fear.
She had already heard about Sarah visiting Mr. Luther. It wasn't like Sarah was trying to hide it from her-if
anything, it felt like Sarah wanted her to know, wanted her to panic. And it was working.
Her fear grew with every passing moment. Her relationship with James was already strained. While he hadn't
turned her in yet, who could guarantee he wouldn't if Sarah produced concrete evidence?
When Charlotte got home, her parents mistook her distress for a spat with James. She locked herself in her room,
trembling, trying to calm herself down. After what felt like hours, she finally mustered the courage to make a
call.
When the line connected, she spoke quickly, desperation in her voice. "Miss Vivian, you have to help me! Sarah
had already visited Mr. Luther. | don't know what she got out of him, but I'm afraid she has evidence!"
On the other end, Vivian's voice was maddeningly calm. "Charlotte, this is your problem. Didn't | warn you last
time? Hmm? You've got a pretty short memory."
Charlotte's face paled. She couldn't believe Vivian was abandoning her now. With no options left, she gritted her
teeth and snapped, "Vivian! You can't just walk away from this! If | go down, I'll make sure you go down with
me!"
Vivian's voice turned icy. "Oh? Are you threatening me, Charlotte?"
"I have no choice!" Charlotte's voice cracked as tears streamed down her face.
Vivian's tone remained chillingly detached. "Fine, go ahead. Try to draginto it.
Do you have proof, Charlotte? From the first meeting to all the plans, it's been your doing, not mine."
These words struck Charlotte like a lightning bolt. Her eyes widened as tears streamed down her
face. "You! You planned for this all along, didn't you? I can't believe I didn't see it coming!"
Suddenly, everything clicked. She now understood why Vivian hadn't
accompanied her to meet Mr. Luther at the very beginning. It was all part of
Vivian's carefully laid plan, setting the stage for this exact moment.
Vivian chuckled softly, her laughter cold and mocking. "Charlotte, letwarn you
one last time-stop calling me. If you keep this up, you'll regret it."
Her voice grew quieter, yet the menace in her tone was unmistakable. *Beep... Beep... Beep.*
The call abruptly ended. Charlotte stared blankly at her phone, her hands trembling. She wanted to
call again but didn't dare. She knew exactly the kind of person Vivian was.
