Chapter 345: Hoot Hoot
What? Before Inez could ask the man what he meant by those words, Scarlet grabbed her arm and then led her
out of the clearing. The sounds of the guards screaming and yelling echoed behind them. Inez turned around and
looked behind her; however, the prisoner's figure flickered, and the man disappeared like smoke, dissolving into
nothing.
"It had to be a trick." Scarlet hissed as she looked behind them. "Whatever that thing was... it was trying to slow
us down."
Inez knew that there was a very good chance that what Scarlet was saying to her was the truth, and yet those
rhymes seared into her skull, like a burning hot poker pressed right within it. Every word was hammering like she
had heard a prophecy.
"Inez, don’t you dare believe a word that man said to you," Scarlet snapped at her sister when she saw her lost
in thought. She yanked her forward and stated, "That man... we don’t even know him. The last thing you want is
to believe his words and then go looking for this man named Cain...." A pause. "If we could safely make it out of
here."
They bolted past the clearing, just as the chaos erupted behind them. Dogs were barking, and guards were
stomping hard on the ground as the sounds of the baton hitting the bushes and the trunks of the trees echoed
behind them.
"They must be somewhere around here. Continue looking for them or else Gilderoy will have our necks!" one of
the guards shouted.
Nerina clawed within her surface.
We can take them on... | can make them all go away...just let me.
Her words were simmering with anger, and Inez knew that Nerina could do what she had promised her, but she
couldn't allow the siren to take over. Not yet. Not unless there was no other way for them to get out of this mess.
Inez bit her lips, stopping herself.
At that moment, she could only hope for one thing. For Killian to find them.

he still felt that his breath was coming short and harsh. Listening to the voice of his beta...his patience that was
already hanging by a very, very thin thread...had started to get even thinner.
They couldn't get out of the Silver Dawn Pack for a long time; it wasn’t until Third Eye broke through the runes
that were drawn out on the territory of the pack, and that bloody witch dealt with the one who was feeding
power to the pack. They somehow managed to get their hold on the beta of the Silver Dawn Pack, but they still
couldn’t find Dawson. He had no fucking idea where that man slipped, and even Third Eye couldn't find that
man.
He told him that there was something different about that man; however, what was different about him, Killian
had not the slightest bit of an idea. And guess what? He couldn't care less about it at the moment.
The only thing he cared about was one thing. Inez.
And he was going to find her. Not that he hadn't already. But it was taking way too long.
"Where are we?" Killian barked. He sat up straight in his seat and looked at Finn, who was driving the car. "Is it
that difficult to drive to the dungeons of the council?"
"You do realise that the council hides the main entrance of the dungeons through various means, including
magic?" Finn responded. "And you forgot the council badge, so it is on you and not us."
"Was | supposed to know that Inez was locked up in a freaking prison? When was the last tyou lost someone
and went —hey, they might be locked up in a fucking cell?" Killian snapped at the man. He ran his hand through
his hair before muttering, "And why the hell does the council use magic? | thought that the shifters were all anti-
magic."

"That sounds stupid," chimed Ajax.
"Well, it does, and so does the current situation. What the hell do you mean by that we need to turn to Draken
Street ? There is no such street!" Killian snapped hard, his hand fisted and ready to punch whoever the fuck
contradicted him.
And fortunately, no one did because they had been looking out of the freaking windows of the car and had not
once seen a board that said Draken Street. And each second, they failed to break through the mana circle, and
Killian’s vision dyed red.
"Well, we might be missing something. Tracy did say that we need to take a turn to the left once we arrive at
Draken Street. She is the only one who can find a way out of this labyrinth, so —"
