Chapter 1833

Jenna bolted into the hotel without a second thought. Sophie lingered outside, peering through the window as

Gordon laughed and chatted with another woman, and couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. It

seemed the rumors were true after all.

After a while, Sophie noticed Jenna hadn't made her way inside and figured Rick must have stopped her.

Concerned about Jenna and Rick potentially clashing again, Sophie decided to head into the Grand Hotel herself.

Outside the lobby, it was just Rick holding his post, with no sign of Jenna. Puzzled, Sophie asked, "Rick, did you

see Jenna cthrough?"

She had seen Jenna enter just moments ago. How could she have disappeared so quickly?

Rick smiled knowingly. "Ms. Sophie, are you looking for Mr. Gordon at this hour?"

Caught off guard by Rick's straightforwardness, Sophie blushed. "I... well, I was just..."

"Mr. Gordon is inside. If you need to ask him something, wouldn't it be better to do it in person?"

Rick's suggestion left Sophie momentarily taken aback. Ask him in person?

"But isn't he in a meeting with someone important? Wouldn't barging in be rude?" Sophie asked, hesitating.

Rick simply smiled and stepped aside, inviting her to enter. After shesitation, Sophie decided to go into the

hotel's restaurant.

As soon as she stepped inside, she noticed the woman who had been with Gordon had vanished into thin air.

Gordon sat alone at a window-side table now. The table was set anew, with fresh dishes laid out.

Curious, Sophie approached and asked, "Gordon, where's Emmalee?"

A nearby waiter pulled out a chair for Sophie, smiling, "Miss, please have a seat."

Still bewildered, Sophie sat across from Gordon. Just moments earlier, the woman was right there. How could she

have vanished so quickly?

Gordon didn't answer her question. Instead, he signaled the waiter to bring out the food. In no time, the chef

personally served dishes-everything Sophie loved.

Before Sophie could wrap her head around it, Gordon spoke, "You've been out and about all night without eating.

Let's have dinner first; there's no rush for anything else."

Sophie realized she was indeed quite hungry Worried about Gordon possibly meeting another woman, she had

skipped dinner to wait with Jenna. The cold outside made the creamy mushroom soup look even more inviting.

She couldn't resist taking a few sips, feeling warmth spread through her.

Once she felt warmer, Sophie asked, "Gordon, | saw you having dinner with Emmalee. Don't try to pull a fast one

on me."

Her tone was laced with jealousy Gordon's twas valuable, and he wouldn't spend it with someone. unless

they were significant. Dining with him wasn't an opportunity just anyone could snag.

All signs pointed to Emmalee being more than just a classmate. The thought

made Sophie feel an unmistakable twinge of jealousy.

"Did you call this way just for that?"

"... Yes!" Sophie's cheeks flushed, but she stood her ground, expressing her dissatisfaction. To her, the idea of

her brother having someone more important than her was just not something she could accept.
