Chapter 362
Unable to recall the events of the previous night, Steven noticed a faint, unfamiliar scent lingering
in the room. He threw off the blanket, and to his shock, a woman's bra fell onto the bed.
He froze for a moment, staring at it, before the memories started to piece
themselves together. He vaguely remembered Scarlett coming back with him the night before.
Could it be...?
Rubbing his temples, Steven looked down at himself-completely naked. The more he tried to
organize his scattered thoughts, the clearer Scarlett's face becin his mind.
As he stood to tidy up the bed, his eyes caught something on the sheets- bloodstains.
His hands trembled as realization dawned. Was this Scarlett's first time? Did they really...?
The next day, after Sarah had woken up, Scarlett finally worked up the courage to visit her, carrying a thermal
container of soup. On her way to the hospital, her mind was a whirlwind of emotions, replaying the events of the
previous night over and over.
She had just intended to drink away her guilt. How had things escalated to ending up in bed with Steven?

Her cheeks flushed a deep red as the memory crept in. Despite joking about wanting Sarah to introduce her to
handsmen, she'd never actually been with anyone before. Last night had been her first time, and she still
felt overwhelmed.
As Scarlett stepped into the hospital room and met Sarah's gaze, her thoughts about the previous night
evaporated. Sarah's reddened eyes brought a fresh wave of guilt crashing over her.
"Sarah..." Scarlett's voice broke as tears welled up in her eyes.
"Scarlett, chere,” Sarah said gently, motioning her over. Her warm smile seemed to melt away sof
Scarlett's unease.
Scarlett couldn't hold back her tears anymore. "Sasa, it's all my fault. The kinder you are, the more guilty | feel. If
| hadn't acted on my own and brought you there to help him, none of this would've happened."
Tears streamed down her face as she poured out her remorse.
After returning hyesterday, Scarlett had been consumed with fear for hours. The thought of Sarah coming to
harm weighed so heavily on her that she felt she might not have been able to live with herself.
"It's okay, Scarlett," Sarah said gently. "Someone deliberately set this up. It's not your fault. Even if you hadn't
takenthere, they would've found another opportunity. People with bad intentions will always find a way."
"Sasa, don't say that. The more you comfort me, the more | want to cry," Scarlett said, her eyes welling with
tears.
Even the factory issue had been resolved thanks to Sarah's brother, and yet Scarlett had almost brought harm to
Sarah.
"I'm so sorry... | nearly got you hurt. And yet Melvin still helped me," Scarlett said, her voice thick with emotion.
Sarah gave her a light smile and shook her head. "Scarlett, don't forget, when | was at my lowest,
you were there for me. And your dad has always been so kind to me."
She could never forget that one thanksgiving when she hadn't eaten and was sitting in the
backyard staring blankly at the moon. Scarlett's dad had noticed and gathered the whole family to
sit with Sarah, quietly keeping her company. It had been such a small act, but in a twhen Sarah
was covered in emotional scars, it had meant everything to her.
"Really, Scarlett, | don't blyou," Sarah said with a warm smile.
Scarlett wiped her tears and brought over the thermal container. "Here, drink this." "Okay," Sarah
replied with a nod.
Ever since Charlotte announced her pregnancy, Mrs. Chancer had treated her better than ever. She
told everyone she met about her pregnant daughter-in-law and even went out of her way to buy
clothes for her.
"Charlotte, | picked these clothes for you. Once your belly starts showing, you won't be able to fit
into your regular ones, so these will be perfect," Mrs. Chancer said with a pleased smile, her gaze
lingering on Charlotte's stomach.
When James walked in, Mrs. Chancer immediately turned her attention to him. "James, you need to
take good care of Charlotte now that she's pregnant.”
She paused for a moment before continuing, "About Lucy..."
