Chapter 477

Vivian had no idea how long she had been asleep when she was jolted awake again by the faint tapping at her

window.

A chill crawled over her skin.

The sound was the sas before, and this time, she didn't even dare to open the curtains.

But the tapping grew louder and more insistent, making her chest tighten with

unease.

Then-suddenly-silence.

She held her breath, waiting. Minutes passed, but nothing happened.

Eventually, she convinced herself it was over and forced herself to sleep.

But half an hour later, just as she was slipping into unconsciousness, the noise returned.

This time, the tapping was sharper, more erratic, yet eerily rhythmic.

Vivian clutched her blanket tightly and immediately covered her ears.

"Go away!" she whimpered. "Tina, it wasn't me! | gave your mother plenty of money-don't cafter me! If

anything happens to me, my grandfather will make sure your whole family suffers!"

But the sound didn't stop. The grating, high-pitched scrape against the glass made her head pound.

She curled into a ball, burying herself under the covers.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the noise ceased.

She cautiously peeked out, scanning the room.

Nothing.

Relief flooded her chest-but she didn't dare sleep again.

Then, the door creaked open.

Vivian stiffened, dread pooling in her stomach. Slowly, she turned her head...

It was her grandfather.

"Get up." His face was cold and unreadable.

Vivian, exhausted and trembling, crawled out of bed and followed him to the study.

"You've turned this house upside down with your nightmares. Now tell me, what's going on?"

Mr. Wilson's piercing gaze locked onto her.

Vivian shuddered. The fear overwhelmed her, and before she could stop herself, she grabbed his hand and

sobbed, "Grandpa, she's coming for me! She's trying to takeaway!"

"Who?" His voice was dangerously calm.

Vivian's eyes brimmed with terror. "Tina. She wants revenge!"

A flicker of cold calculation passed through Mr. Wilson's eyes. "Tina Mendes? The girl who committed suicide?"

"Yes! It's her!" Vivian's frantic gaze darted around the room. "Don't cafter me,

it wasn't my fault! If you want revenge, go after Sarah Sanders! She's the one you should blame!"

Mr. Wilson's expression darkened.

In just a few sentences, he had pieced together the truth-his granddaughter was involved in Tina's death.

If she had been innocent, she wouldn't be this afraid.

He turned to Anne, who had been standing silently nearby. With a subtle glance, he signaled for her to leave.

She understood immediately and slipped out, closing the door behind her. Vivian trembled as she recounted

everything to her grandfather.

"Grandpa, it wasn't my fault! That woman was bound to die anyway! She had HIV there was no saving her...

Besides, | gave her family a lot of money, enough for her mother and brother to live comfortably."

Slap!

Mr. Wilson's palm struck across her face.
