Chapter 499
Just as Zachary finished handling his affairs and was driving home, his phone rang—it was Vivian calling.
His hand hovered over the answer button, but he hesitated to press it.
"Zachary, Vivian likes you. You should see that by now. The reason she returned this twas for you." That was
the voice of Mr. Wilson, his face ever so hypocritical.
"Zac, what exactly is your relationship with Miss Sanders?" That was a gentle, composed face, yet deep in her
eyes lurked a suppressed madness-cold and merciless.
Behind him was his grandfather's voice, offering words of measured caution. "The matter with the Wilsons is
something you'll have to decide for yourself. If Wilson approaches me, | won't turn him away. But how you handle
it is up to you."
"Bro, you can't give up on Sarah! Didn't you say you'd bring her back to be my sister-in-law? Brother?"
Enough!
He forced all those voices out of his mind, leaving only the persistent ringing of his phone echoing in the empty
car.
"Zachary, remember to eat well." That soft, tender voice belonged to the woman who, in the end, had met the
most tragic fate-dying in the elegant courtyard she loved so dearly.
His fingers trembled slightly as he finally pressed to accept the call.
His voice was low, laced with an undeniable chill. "What is it?" His fingers tapped impatiently against the
steering wheel.
Vivian's voice cthrough with a sob. "Zachary, csave me... I'm drunk... at Ink Bar."
Before he could respond, the call was abruptly cut off.

In the rearview mirror, his sharp features reflected a face carved from ice, his eyes dark with a slow-burning
hatred.
His foot pressed down on the gas pedal, and the car sped toward Ink Bar.
Inside the bar, the bartender placed a Blue Star cocktail in front of Sarah. Several glasses were already set on
the table-drinks he had mixed earlier, but the woman before him had taken only a sip of each before setting
them aside.
"Another," Sarah said as she pushed the latest glass away.
The Blue Star cocktail shimmered under the flashing lights, its deep blue hue glowing with an almost hypnotic
brilliance. But something felt off-it was missing something. Was it the aroma of CabeSauvignon? Or was it
something else entirely?
The bartender didn't refuse her request. After all, she was paying.
As he prepared another drink, Sarah let her gaze drift over the sea of men and women inside the bar.
Unexpectedly, her eyes landed on a familiar figure in the dimly lit corner.
Why was she here?
Vivian was at the bar, something completely out of character for her. But what was even more surprising was the
sight of the numerous empty glasses piled in front of her. She wasn't just drinking-she was downing them, one
after another, without hesitation. Her motions were mechanical, repetitive, as if she was performing some
meaningless ritual.
What was she trying to do?

Sarah's sharp eyes caught several men watching Vivian with less-than-innocent intentions. Shad even
begun inching closer toward her.
Just as Sarah was about to step forward, someone else was faster.
A figure strode up to Vivian's side, his presence commanding attention. Even in the dim neon glow, his
expression was unmistakable-pure, unfiltered anger.
Under the flickering bar lights, this was the first tSarah had ever seen Zachary look like this.
With a face full of frustration, he yanked the glass out of Vivian's hand. Hidden within the crowd, Sarah barely
made out his irritated voice.
