Chapter 504
After scaring the man off, Steven turned back toward the booth.
Sarah and Scarlett were still drinking, completely oblivious to the danger they'd just been in.
His anger flared.
Without hesitation, he snatched their glasses away. "Scarlett, look at me!"
Something in his voice cut through her drunken haze. At the sound of his command, Scarlett snapped to
attention, a shiver running down her spine as she looked up at him.
"Steven?! What... what are you doing here?"
Panic flashed across her face, and in a desperate attempt to hide, she covered her face with her hands. "Nope,
not me! You've got the wrong person!"
Steven clenched his jaw. "Wake up. Do you have any idea what almost happened just now? Why the hell weren't
you answering your phone? | called you dozens of times!" His eyes were red with frustration.
Scarlett shrank back, guilty. "I'm sorry, okay? Sasa was feeling down, so | brought her here to relax. | wasn't
planning to get drunk..."
But after Sarah cback from the restroom, she had started drinking like her life depended on it.
Scarlett had only joined in to keep her company, and even then, she hadn't had as much as Sarah-otherwise,
she'd be just as passed out on the couch right now.
"Don't giveexcuses! Ignoring my calls-really? Do you know what would've happened if I'd been even a
minute late? That guy's hands were already-" His voice caught in his throat. He couldn't even bring himself to

Scarlett stiffened. "Wait. What? Who?"
"Doesn't matter. You're both coming with me. Now." Steven's voice was firm, leaving no room for argument.
He reached out to support Scarlett, who seemed fine until she tried to stand.
The moment she did, her legs gave out beneath her.
Steven caught her immediately, steadying her with a firm grip.
Then he turned to Sarah.
There was no way he could carry them both.
After a brief hesitation, he pulled out his phone and called Zachary.
"Boss, get to Ink Bar. Now. Miss Sanders is wasted. She cwith Scarlett, and | can't carry them both."
Ink Bar?
Again?
Vivian had asked him to pick her up from this bar earlier tonight.
And now, again-this was where he had to go.
Why the hell was Sarah here?
There was no tto think. Zachary threw on his coat and rushed to Ink Bar.
The moment he stepped inside, the flashing lights stung his eyes, and the pounding bass rattled his skull.
Sarah was sprawled out on the couch, an empty bottle still clutched in her hand. She tilted it back, trying to
drink even though there was nothing left.
Scarlett sat beside her, her face flushed. She looked jittery, stealing glances at Steven. She was still drunk, but
after Steven dragged her to wash her face, she had sobered up a little.
Just enough to recognize people.
Just enough to purse her lips like she was considering grabbing another drink. Zachary took one look at the mess
in front of him. "What the hell happened?"
Steven let out a sharp breath. "Finally. | heard they cto relax, but instead, they drank themselves into
oblivion. | got here just in time-almost too late. I'll tell you the details later. Take Miss Sanders with you. I'm
taking Scarlett home."
There was none of his usual teasing grin, no trace of his usual laid-back attitude. He was furious.
Zachary gave a curt nod, his gaze shifting to Sarah.
Steven took Scarlett's hand and led her out of the bar.
That left just the two of them.

He had been here earlier.
He had left with Vivian.
Did Sarah see?
Was that why she had drowned herself in alcohol like this?
"Sasa?" He crouched down beside her.
Sarah's eyes suddenly snapped open.
Then she grinned, pointing a finger at
him. "I know you! Heh Cputwhy'do

She blinked, confused.
She reached out, patting the air on his right. Nothing.
Then she reached out to the left. Still nothing.
