Chapter 605
As they walked, Mr. Lambert briefed her about the factory. "Miss Sanders, the place has changed considerably
over the years. Headquarters sent inspectors a few years ago, but no one has visited in the last three years.
They haven't forgotten about us, have they?"
Sarah smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, Mr. Lambert. Sanders Group would never abandon any employee or
facility. I'm here specifically to resolve these issues."
Mr. Lambert nodded, though Sarah noticed his expression growing increasingly troubled as they approached the
factory. Just before entering, he warned her, "The situation inside isn't good. I've worked here for decades and
have sauthority, but lately there've been all sorts of problems. Sworkers are on strike, and even the
manager is at his wit's end."
Once inside, Sarah finally understood what Mr. Lambert meant.
The factory manager greeted them with a group of workers holding protest signs. "You must be from
headquarters. | hear you're Mr. Sanders’ sister. We look forward to your guidance."
Sarah smiled diplomatically. "I wouldn't call it guidance. Headquarters heard about the machinery malfunctions
and worker injuries. I'm here to check on everyone and examine the equipment."
The manager seemed taken aback. He quickly led her into the building to an office. "This is your workspace,

"Thank you, Manager Sullivan," Sarah replied with polite confidence.
Sensing Sarah wouldn't be easily handled, Manager Sullivan decided on a direct approach. "Miss Sanders, with
the equipment failures and worker injuries, normal operations are impossible right now. You understand? Your
presence here these next few days isn't particularly necessary."
Sarah was surprised by his bluntness. She'd already noticed the unfriendly looks from the sign-holding workers
outside.
Manager Sullivan left immediately, and Mr. Lambert was assigned elsewhere - Sarah realized she'd been neatly
sidelined.
The factory workers seemed to have been instructed to ignore her. By the end of the workday, she hadn't
gathered any useful information.
Back at the Wesler house, she found the son arguing with his wife.
"What do you know, woman! I'm trying to make us rich quickly. Everyone in this village is gambling - what are
you so afraid of?"

They both fell silent when they noticed Sarah's return, though Charlie's gaze remained inappropriate.
Sarah had dinner with the family.
