Chapter 652
Hearing Charlie's threats, Manager Sullivan only laughed harder.
"You really think someone like you could takedown?" he sneered. "I told you before I've got people backing
me. Did you really think I'd go into this without covering my own ass? Even if Sarah knows, so what? I'll just
laugh at your stupidity. You don't even know who's behind me, and you still dared to snitch? Don't worry you'll
find out soon enough. Speople aren't to be messed with."
Charlie's grin disappeared. "We'll see."
Manager Sullivan gave him one last cold glance. "Here's a piece of advice-watch your back. If you'd kept your
mouth shut, you'd only have Sarah and Mr. Lambert gunning for you. But now? You've pissedoff too. Tell me
how do you expect to survive in West Ridge after this?"
With that, he turned and strode back toward the factory, leaving Charlie standing there in the dust, rattled by
what he'd just heard.
Because the truth was... Charlie had no idea who Manager Sullivan's backers were. And from the sound of it,
they might be people even Sarah wouldn't dare
cross.
But none of that changed the fact: he still had to cup with six million. Even if he sold his house-sold his
whole family-he couldn't scrape together that kind of money.
Back inside the factory, Sarah was staring at the security footage on her phone- Charlie's confession playing in
full.
She glanced at Mr. Lambert. "With this video, we can finally take Sullivan down, right?"
Lambert frowned. "Not necessarily. Don't forget-he's backed by Mrs. Sanders. That woman's no pushover."

"Then for now, let's start by suspending Sullivan," she said calmly.
Lambert nodded. "That's probably the smartest move for now."
Once he stepped out, Sarah collapsed into her chair with a sigh of relief. Even she wasn't quite sure why she'd
given Charlie a second chance. The old her wouldn't have hesitated to crush someone like him.
But now, every tshe made a move, she found herself thinking of Zachary-of why he'd chere in the first
place. He was after the truth behind the explosion. And Charlie... Charlie was the key.
If Charlie ended up behind bars, Zachary wouldn't be able to get close to him. So for now, keeping Charlie on the
hook gave Zachary time. Which meant she had to buy that tfor him.
And Charlie, with no money and no way out, would only cling tighter to Zachary— his so-called "golden goose."
He never stopped bragging about how Zachary helped him win big at the gambling den. He'd only keep chasing
after him now.

Sarah hadn't said a word yet, but Mr. Lambert stood up, his voice stern. "You really don't know what you've
done?"
Manager Sullivan didn't flinch. In fact, he leaned back in the chair across from Sarah, more arrogant than ever.

"Manager Sullivan," she said, voice like ice, "sabotaging company property is a criminal offense. People go to
