Chapter 656
Zachary smirked as he watched Charlie, amused by his outlandish claims. The poor fool was so wrapped up in
his fantasies of wealth that he completely missed the mockery in Zachary's eyes.
But as they say, no plan survives contact with reality.
Charlie never imagined his schemes would collapse before they even got off the ground.
"How could | lose?" Charlie stared blankly at the dice on the gambling table, unable to believe what was
happening.
The noisy sounds of the gambling den faded away as his mind blocked them out. His ears heard nothing, and
everything around him beca blur.
"Hey, are you playing or not? If not, get out of the way. You're blocking the table," someone shoved him aside.
Charlie was like a mad dog now, ready to snap at anyone.
He turned around angrily, about to lash out, when he saw Zachary standing calmly in the crowd as if nothing had
happened.
That made sense-after all, it was his money that was lost.
Realizing this, Charlie couldn't contain the anger rising from deep within. He stormed toward Zachary.
Before he could say a word, Zachary cut him off coldly, seeming to read his thoughts. "I never guaranteed you'd
win. That's gambling-wins and losses. Even God himself couldn't win every hand."

Zachary was right, leaving Charlie speechless.
The sudden dose of reality extinguished his burning anger, leaving him so frustrated he could almost spit blood.
Even passing out would be better than facing this cruel reality.
What Charlie failed to understand was that for someone with Zachary's intelligence, the games in this dingy
casino were child's play-like a cat toying with mice.
So Zachary had deliberately lost. He wanted to drive Charlie to complete desperation. Only then could his next
move be decisive.
Despite his anger and desire to lash out, Charlie didn't dare direct his fury at Zachary.
He was still clinging to the fantasy that he could get rich through Zachary.
"Look man, I'm sorry," Charlie said after collecting himself. "I'm just not in a good headspace right now. You head
home-I need stalone to think." He turned and slumped away from the den, utterly defeated..
Zachary watched him leave and let out a mocking laugh.
It seemed the tto "close the net" was near. Everything would soon cto light.
Charlie had no idea how he made it home. Fortunately, the path was so deeply imprinted in his mind that he
could find his way heven with his eyes closed.
In the yard, he dunked his head under the cold water from the outdoor faucet.

Charlie noticed Sarah was home. His anger found an outlet, and he strode toward her.
"Sarah, were you just laughing at me?" he confronted her accusingly.
Sarah rolled her eyes with her back to him, not bothering to argue with someone who was acting crazy.
