Chapter 455
Rebecca's eyes lit up with a glimmer of surprise.
She had suspected all along that Anthea wasn't the true founder of AY.
Just as Rebecca paused, Talbot slipped a folder into her hands. "Ms. Morris, you forgot your proposal."
Rebecca bit her lip, clutching the proposal tightly, her eyes filled with humiliation. She wished she could strangle
Anthea right then and there.
In the conference room, Talbot turned to Anthea. "Ms. Yeager, I've reviewed Ms. Morris's proposal, and | don't
think it's as lacking as you suggested."
Anthea didn't bother to explain. Instead, she opened her laptop and typed away furiously. Moments later, she
connected it to the large screen behind her. "Look up, Talbot."
Talbot looked up, his eyes wide with surprise.
The screen displayed several key points from Rebecca's proposal. Talbot was taken aback by how effortlessly
Anthea had memorized the entire content with just a quick glance.
Anthea continued, "This proposal seems tailor-made for AY, but it's not. Look here, here, and here. A detailed
analysis reveals numerous flaws. It might bring us short-term gains, but that's temporary! To create something
timeless, to leave a mark in history, we need vision and depth!"

The proposal was one she had outgrown years ago.
Talbot, however, hadn't experienced that era. He wasn't Anthea.
So, she understood Talbot's perspective.
Even if ten people reviewed it, they'd likely all think it was an excellent proposal.
After a pause, realization dawned on Talbot, "Ms. Yeager, | see now! | was too hasty!"
He was grateful that Anthea had once again taught him a valuable lesson.
Talbot was a returnee from overseas studies.
He used to think his expertise was sufficient until he met Anthea, who showed him what true mastery meant.
Compared to Anthea, he felt like a greenhorn.
Anthea had taught him many things beyond textbooks.
He was growing day by day.
Anthea was his mentor, the one who recognized his potential and guided him.
"Everything takes tto adapt; with more experience, you'll understand," Anthea reassured. Talbot had a knack
for business, but he lacked hands-on experience.
Talbot then added, "By the way, Ms. Yeager, the financial report for the new quarter is out. Would you like to
review it?"
Anthea nodded slightly.
Financials are the lifeblood of a company; any manipulation there could jeopardize the entire operation.
Thus, Anthea paid particular attention to financial matters.
At the Morris household.
Daly Morris was seated in the living room, eagerly awaiting good news from Rebecca.
Just then, the sound of a car engine cfrom outside. Daly quickly stood up and went to greet her.
Sure enough, Rebecca had returned!
"Rebecca!"
While Daly's face was brimming with smiles, Rebecca's expression was anything but pleasant. "Dad."
Seeing her demeanor, Daly's heart skipped a beat. "Rebecca, what happened? Did the deal not go through?"
Rebecca's proposal was outstanding; it made no sense for AY to reject it.
What on earth happened?
Rebecca nodded. "Yes."
Daly's face turned pale in an instant. "Why?"
"The founder of AY had to go overseas unexpectedly and can't return soon. | sent the proposal to his email, and
he said it wasn't suitable for their company." Rebecca didn't want to mention Anthea.
If Daly found out that Anthea was the founder of AY, where would she put her pride?
Was she, a true heiress with noble blood, inferior to someone pretending to be one?
No way!
She couldn't let Anthea trample over her.
It should be the other way around-Anthea should be her stepping stone!
Daly's face fell. "What do we do now? If AY won't partner with us, are we just going to watch our company go
bankrupt?"
Rebecca narrowed her eyes. "Dad, don't worry. I'll think of something."
Daly sighed heavily.
