Chapter 616: She’s Incredible
Chapter 616: She’s Incredible
He deepened his voice into a flawless imitation of a tyrant king, making the words ridiculously tic.
Nnenna smirked despite herself.
Darius stood, dusting off his coat like a man leaving a stage performance. "So, love—"
One sharp look from Nnenna cut him off instantly. Her expression said 'l see you're not afraid of death, but
maybe you should be.”
"—I'm sorry, your highness," he corrected smoothly, bowing his head just enough to make the tease sting less.
"Our next session will be tomorrow, at any place of your choosing. Just send someone to fetchwhen you are
ready."
He flashed a grin. "Have a nice day. Hopefully, | bump into you later... though knowing my luck, my room is
probably tucked at the farthest end of this castle."
With that, he strolled closer. For once, his charm wasn’t laced with arrogance but with surprising sincerity. He
gently took her right hand, and unlike the careless flourish earlier, he pressed a respectful kiss to the back of it,
slow, deliberate.
Nnenna blinked, slightly caught off guard by the shift.
Then he flashed her a warm, almost friendly smile before finally walking away, his footsteps echoing down the
hall.
Nnenna just smiled at everything. Even if he looked serious, she wasn’t going to consider it. From Carl's
reactions, and everyone else’s, it was obvious Darius had a long history of being a playboy. Resigned
psychiatrist, not potential fiancé, she thought, amused.
Nightfall in Riverum Castle
In one of the guest rooms, Darius had already settled in. Stretching his neck, he stepped out onto the balcony
and pulled out his phone. After three rings, someone picked up, but said nothing. Silence.
He didn’t mind. He was used to this.
"I'm in," Darius said, his voice stripped of all its usual playfulness, sharp and serious instead. Then he cut the
call.
Leaning against the balcony rail, he looked out over the sprawling castle grounds. For once, his smile wasn’t
mischievous but genuine.
"Now... I'm actually looking forward to this," he whispered.

Nnenna woke up earlier than usual. Freshening up took longer these days with the paralysis, but she pushed
through, determined. Afterward, she slipped into her training clothes and wheeled herself toward the training
grounds.
It wasn’t surprising to find Arthur already there, throwing precise punches into a training dummy. His movements
were sharp, each strike echoing in the quiet morning air.
"Good morning," she called as she rolled closer.
Arthur froze mid punch. Slowly, he turned, his usual icy composure softening just slightly at the sound of her
voice.
"You shouldn't be awake this early," he said, his tone low but edged with concern. "Sleep would help you recover.
| know things are harder for you now... to get out here this early means you must've woken long before dawn.
Clearly, no one helped you, most of the servants are still asleep."
His gaze lingered on her, sharp but troubled, as if silently weighing the effort it must've taken her to get here
alone.
"Don’t worry, | can handle it myself. But... yes, | did have to wake up extra early to catch you before you finished
training," Nnenna admitted with a small smile. "You make a good point. I'll do something about that."
Arthur nodded then picked up a towel and wiped the sweat from his face, his expression unreadable. "Why are
you here?"
"To train, obviously," Nnenna replied matter of factly.
Arthur shook his head. "I don’t think it’s tfor that yet. It's only been a few days since you woke up. We need
to make sure you're completely stabilized first. And your training... it won't be the normal kind." He stopped
himself, not wanting to say too much.
"I understand," Nnenna said quickly. "But I also know there are other things | can do in the meantwhile
waiting to recover the use of my legs." Her voice carried a stubborn optimism.
Arthur looked at her, and for just a heartbeat, sadness flickered in his eyes. She doesn’t want to accept that...
she might never recover. But he swallowed the thought, deciding not to crush her hope.
"What do you want to do?" he asked instead.
"lI want you to keep training me, Sensei."

"Nah, he already taught me," Nnenna said with a small nod, her eyes lighting up.
Arthur raised a brow, intrigued. "Oh? Then explain it to me."

Arthur nodded slowly but he found himself... watching. Not just listening, but really watching. The way her eyes
shone when she explained, the way her voice lifted with excitement, as if she had already won half the battle by
understanding it.
She's... incredible, he thought, momentarily forgetting the weight of his own training.
