Chapter 338
"If it's nothing, then why won't you show me?"
James took a deep breath and handed the photo album to Charlotte. "Satisfied now?"
Charlotte took the album and flipped through it, photo by photo, noticing that most of them were pictures of
James alone.
"This belongs to Sarah? Why is her stuff here?" Charlotte frowned. She didn't want Sarah to have any connection
to them.
James let out a cold, mocking laugh. "She probably forgot about it."
Charlotte didn't press further, but she couldn't shake the image of James's expression while looking at the photo
earlier-his eyes had been heavy with emotion, complicated and full of longing.
Sensing James's growing impatience, Charlotte quickly tried to explain. “James, | just feel insecure sometimes.
I'm afraid you don't care aboutanymore. It's only because | care so much about you."
"I know," James said, his voice laced with exhaustion.
That day was Sarah's birthday. The venue was set at Melvin's villa. The outdoor garden in the back was perfect
for hosting a small birthday party.
From early morning, the entire Sanders household staff was bustling around to prepare. Melvin had even hired a

By six in the evening, the sky had already darkened, and the garden lights illuminated the space beautifully.
Sarah was in her room getting dressed. The gown she was wearing was a custom-made piece Melvin had
specially ordered for her.
Her gaze fell on a diamond necklace lying on the table. Melvin had given it to her yesterday as a birthday gift.
After a moment of thought, she decided against wearing it and tucked the necklace into a drawer.
On Thousand Bells Avenue, Zachary was driving with Mia in the passenger seat. She was singing a cheerful tune.
"Big brother, what gift are you giving her?" Mia asked excitedly.
"Ask her yourself when you see her," Zachary replied, keeping his focus on the road.
Mia pouted, curious but knowing her brother wouldn't spill the secret.
As they approached the Sanders house, Zachary's phone rang. He glanced at the
caller ID, hesitated, then answered, his tone distant and cold. "What is it?"
The person on the other end spoke for a while, and Zachary's brows furrowed. "Wait for me."
After hanging up, he turned to Mia. "Mia, I'll drop you off first."
"Zac, where are you going?" Mia asked, clearly worried.
Zachary didn't give her a clear answer. He handed her the gift. "I have something to take care of. You go ahead
with the gift."
Mia could tell from his tone that it was something serious. "Alright, but hurry back. You should be the one to give
the gift to Sarah yourself."
In the courtyard of the Sanders house, Steven and Scarlett arrived at the stime, each holding a gift for
Sarah.
"Happy birthday, Sasa!" Scarlett said warmly. "You're going to love what I got you, but you'll have to wait a bit to
open it.”
Sarah hugged the gifts in her arms and nodded with a smile.
"I'm giving you something even better," Steven said proudly. "This is an exclusive membership card for St. Ritz's
dining club. From now on, whenever you visit St. Ritz, you'll be treated like a VIP and get big discounts."
Scarlett couldn't help but tease him. "That's it? Just a card?"
Steven widened his eyes in disbelief

"Alright, alright, it's just a card,"Scarlett muttered under her breath.
Before their bickering could escalate, Mia walked in.

No one else cin. He wasn't here.
Noticing Sarah's glance, Mia quickly added, "My brother's handling something,
but he'll be here soon!"
