Chapter 376
He had really spent a hundred million on the antique rosary. Even with its intricate religious
inscriptions, it shouldn't have commanded nearly that price - it was almost double its value.
Sarah suspected Mr. Anderson's quick decision was partly due to the earlier incident with the
portrait.
After the auction ended, dinner was served. Mr. Anderson, who preferred privacy to social
gatherings, left early. Vivian kept glaring at Sarah, convinced that the rosary strategy hadn't been
Melvin's idea.
"Miss Sanders, how clever of you. Your auction piece suited Mr. Anderson's taste perfectly,” Vivian
said coldly.
Sarah didn't bother with politeness. "Indeed. Perhaps Miss Wilson could learn something from this."
Vivian's knuckles whitened around her silverware as she glared at Sarah. "Miss Sanders, don't
celebrate too soon."
Impressing Mr. Anderson didn't guarantee securing the property - she still had a chance.
Midway through the main course, a man in a dark suit appeared beside Sarah and Melvin, speaking
discreetly, "Miss Sanders, Mr. Sanders, Mr. Anderson would like to speak with you."

The request drew everyone's attention. Vivian tensed - why would Mr. Anderson want a private meeting?
Zachary watched Sarah leave, his expression unreadable.
In the second-floor executive lounge, Mr. Anderson sat in a leather armchair with his eyes closed. Sarah and
Melvin approached. "Mr. Anderson?"
He opened his eyes slowly. "Please, sit down."
Skipping pleasantries, he got straight to the point. "I know everyone's eyeing on Crystal Bay. The proposed
shipping routes make it an excellent development opportunity."
Melvin spoke directly, "Two weeks ago, rumors spread that you were selling Crystal Bay. Was that false?"
"Yes, entirely false," Mr. Anderson said gravely.
Sarah and Melvin exchanged glances, surprised that the rumor that had fooled all of East Coast was fabricated.
"My intention to sell property is real," Mr. Anderson continued carefully. "But the shipping route announcement is
false."
Sarah struggled to mask her shock. This revelation was even more startling than the Crystal Bay situation.
"Why is that?" Sarah asked.
Mr. Anderson continued, "The shipping route isn't near Crystal Bay at all - it's by Harbor Crescent, near the
MaritBridge."
"Harbor Crescent?" Melvin muttered in disbelief.
He'd never heard this before. Harbor Crescent was similar to Crystal Bay,
surrounded by water on all sides - perfect for a luxury resort development.
Melvin gave a bitter smile. They had all been chasing Crystal Bay so aggressively, everyone
downstairs included.
Who had started the original rumor? And why had everyone fallen for it?
Mr. Anderson turned to Sarah with a knowing smile. "What made you decide to purchase that
religious portrait?"
He had clearly noticed she was the one who had prompted Melvin to bid.
Sarah spoke carefully: "Mr. Anderson, while I'm not a religious person myself, | understand that
sacred images deserve respect. Given your deep faith, | knew this would be particularly important
to you."
"Such a simple principle, yet speople fail to grasp it," Mr. Anderson's expression darkened
momentarily.
"In a month, the Land Bureau will hold an auction that includes Harbor Crescent. However, the
shipping route announcement won't be made public until later. I'm not sharing this information with
anyone else - consider it my appreciation for your handling of the portrait situation," Mr. Anderson
said, closing his eyes thoughtfully.
Sarah and Melvin recognized their cue to leave. Though the antique rosary hadn't secured Crystal
Bay, it had earned them something potentially more valuable - crucial insider information about the
development plans.
