Chapter 378
Zachary's gaze remained firm, but he said nothing more.
Vivian couldn't accept his coldness. Her expression started to crack, her voice turning shrill. "Why
won't you answer my question? Is it because of Sarah? Are you not helpingjust to give the
Sanders a chance? Zachary, you're such a disappointment. For Sarah's sake, you're willing to
jeopardize the partnership between our families?"
Zachary remained silent, focusing intently on the road ahead.
Back home, Sarah kept thinking about Mr. Anderson's revelation at the auction. What puzzled her
was, if what Mr. Anderson said was true, why hadn't any news about Harbor Crescent leaked yet?
Not even the smallest rumor had surfaced.
Everyone believed Crystal Bay was connected to the new shipping route.
So how could she be sure Mr. Anderson's information was reliable?
"Melvin, which do you think it is - Crystal Bay or Harbor Crescent?" she suddenly asked.

Melvin thought for a moment. "Hard to say. My sources point to Crystal Bay - it's surrounded by water and sits at
a crossroads of shipping lanes. However, Harbor Crescent is indeed near the bridge. If Mr. Anderson wanted to
deceive us, he wouldn't go to such lengths."
After all, since Mr. Anderson wanted to sell Crystal Bay, keeping this information secret would have driven up the
price. By revealing it, he'd effectively lowered Crystal Bay's peak value.
For Mr. Anderson, this would be a losing proposition.
"So you think he's telling the truth?" Sarah asked again.
Melvin nodded noncommittally. "Perhaps the original rumors were false? Someone might have spread them
deliberately to get Harbor Crescent at a lower price."
"Either way, we'll need to attend the property auction in a month," Sarah said.
"Get srest. | have smatters to handle."
"Alright."
Back at her home, Charlotte felt increasingly uneasy. Sarah's words kept echoing in her mind. Though she was
confident James would protect her, she knew that if the Reynolds and Sanders families found concrete evidence,
they would join forces to send her to prison.
After much consideration, she waited until James went to his study to work before taking out her
phone to make a call.
The phone rang three times before being answered. Vivian's sluggish voice cthrough, "What do
you want? You're the talk of the town with your pregnancy - aren't you worried about someone
tracking this call?"
"Help me!" Charlotte cut straight to the point, desperate enough to risk making this call.
"What happened?" A note of concern crept into Vivian's voice.
Charlotte recounted every detail of that evening's events. "That witch must have known all along.
She's been gathering evidence to destroy- she kept making threats all evening."
"You idiot!" Vivian snapped through the phone. "If you hadn't confronted her tonight, would she
have said any of this to you?"
Vivian paused before continuing, "I've told you repeatedly - Lucy's already in custody, quietly
playing her part as your scapegoat. You should have left it at that. Why did you have to go
antagonize Sarah after the gala? If you're hell-bent on self-destruction, don't ccrying tofor
help."
