Chapter 431
Vivian felt a deep sense of disappointment. Was this what things had cto between her and Zachary?
"I don't know yet," Zachary replied coldly. "But I'll find out who's behind it."
Vivian quickly unfolded the small table and took out the soup from the thermos.
"Try it. | made it myself." A faint blush appeared on her cheeks.
Remembering his grandfather's words, Zachary didn't refuse. He took a sip, then put the spoon down.
"It's good."
Vivian smiled sweetly. "If you like it, | can make it for you more often."
Then, as if casually, she added, "Zachary, Grandpa askedabout us today. He said he discussed it with your
grandfather, and if you have no objections, we can get engaged first."
Zachary's expression darkened. "Vivian, I've only ever seen you as a sister."
"But | don't see you as a brother," she countered, her voice trembling slightly. "Zac, all these years... | thought
you knew how | felt."
Her heart pounded anxiously. How could Zachary reject her?
"Vivian, |—"

"This is because of Sarah, isn't it?" Vivian's eyes narrowed.
"What?"
"It has to be because of her!" she burst out, her tone turning frantic. "You like Sarah-that's why you don't like
me!"
Her expression twisted, as if she had finally uncovered the truth.
Whenever she and Zachary were together, the moment Sarah appeared, she ceased to exist in his eyes.
Zachary parted his lips as if to say something, but in the end, he remained silent.
Sarah approached the hospital room, carrying a thermos. Today, she had specifically make lunch for Zachary.
But as she reached the door, she heard the sound of a woman crying from inside.
"Zachary, why are you treatinglike this? Your grandfather already spoke to you—he made it clear. We've
been engaged since we were children, and you used to be so good to me. But why has everything changed now?
It's because of Sarah, isn't it? Other than her, | can't think of any other reason. Just because she's here, you see
It was Vivian's voice. She was crying.
Sarah stopped at the doorway, unsure of what to do. Should she go in? Vivian was already inside, venting her
grievances. If she walked in now, it would only make things awkward.
"There's nothing like that. Don't overthink things," Zachary replied, his tone calm but firm.
Vivian, as if suddenly remembering something, quickly changed the subject. "Zachary, Vista International was
very satisfied with the products we provided. They said once the contract expires, they're willing to renew it."
Zachary, however, didn't seem surprised. "Mr. Robinson already left?"

Then, as if casually, she shifted the topic. "But what should | tell your grandfather when he asks?"
She wasn't making it up her grandfather and William had been discussing their engagement for days now.
Zachary fell silent for a moment before responding, "Just tell him I'm not considering it for now."
Vivian's eyes lit up with hope. "So you mean... you're thinking about being with me?"
Zachary didn't explicitly refuse. He didn't agree either.
But that was enough for Vivian to take it as a sign of possibility.
Outside the door, Sarah had heard enough. There was no reason for her to stand there any longer.
